Modern Renaissance
A study of Renaissance architecture and art reinstating its relevancy and cohesiveness with modern design through the making of a soft but striking chess set.
Preliminary Concepts
This set is inspired by Rosalia’s album, Motomami. This album embodies adrenaline and commotion, but also minimalism and softness.
A set paying homage to Renaissance architecture and decor, while referencing a fashion thesis by Igor Dieryck and a painting by Hieronymus Bosch.
This set is inspired by my hometown, Old San Juan, its details that remind me of chess, and the nostalgia of its unique palette and energy. Its cultural richness is an endless source of inspiration.
